How a Palestinian and an Israeli Became Partners in Peace with Aziz Abu Sarah, Maoz Inon, Kalid Loul and Vered Guttman
Tuesday, September 9 at 1pm, ET / 10am, PT
Despite personal tragedies—Aziz Abu Sarah’s brother was killed by Israeli soldiers during the first Intifada and Maoz Inon‘s parents were killed by Hamas on October 7, 2023—these two visionaries have united to promote reconciliation. Leading a growing movement of Israelis and Palestinians advocating for justice, peace and equality, they’ve become global advocates for dialogue and cross-cultural understanding—they’ve even met with and been embraced by the late Pope Francis and new Pope Leo. Abu Sarah and Inon will share their personal journeys, their vision for a shared future, and why they believe they can achieve peace by 2030. Hear why they choose not to hate, believe in forgiveness and hope, and explain how anger can be used to bring people together to effect change. In conversation with Moment contributor Vered Guttman, who is also a representative of the Hostages and Missing Families Forum and Kalid Loul, co-founder of the Muslim American Leadership Alliance (MALA).
This conversation is part of Beni Adam/Bnei Adam: Restoring Humanity, a joint program series sponsored by MALA and Moment Magazine, that encourages a healthy and impactful exchange of dialogue, dispels myths and builds solidarity that transcends borders and religion.
