Bahrain and Israel had informal ties for years before formally agreeing to diplomatic relations as part of the Abraham Accords in 2020. Most recently, Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa became the first Arab leader to speak out and condemn Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel as well as calling for the release of hostages in Gaza. Join award-winning Bahraini journalist Ahdeya Al Sayededitor-in-chief of the Times of Bahrain and Moment editor-in-chief Nadine Epstein, cofounder of the Moment Institute Middle East Fellows program, for a conversation about the history and importance of Bahraini-Israeli relations, antisemitism in the Arab world and how the Israel-Hamas War is viewed in various Gulf States.

This program is part of a Moment series on antisemitism supported by the Joyce and Irving Goldman Family Foundation.

Registered participants will receive a special link to view this pre-recorded program on the day of the program, November 30, 2023.
