A leading consultant on national education programs, Edwards received her doctorate in U.S Southern history, African history and African literature from the University of Chicago, where she studied under the late preeminent historian Dr. John Hope Franklin.   This series is open to anyone interested in learning more about African-American history and is in honor of Black History Month which takes place in February.
