The Wanderers: The Jews Who Fled East to Survive the Holocaust with Daniela Gerson and Amy E. Schwartz
Tuesday, June 23 at 1pm, ET / 10am, PT
When Daniela Gerson first met her wife, Talia Inlender, they discovered that their grandparents escaped the same Polish town during World War II and endured years of displacement, Soviet labor camps, exile in Central Asia and lives rebuilt across continents. Gerson, author of The Wanderers: A Story of Exile, Survival, and Unexpected Love in the Shadow of World War II, will discuss the little-known story of the many Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust by fleeing east into the Soviet Union as well as the hidden history of Jewish refugees under Stalin. She will also explore the impossible choices refugees face during times of political upheaval and the enduring impact of survival across generations. In conversation with Moment Opinion and Books Editor Amy E. Schwartz.
