Fascinating story. I remember many years ago hearing an Israeli say, “Anah Kurdi,” meanining he didn’t know something. There was the stereotype Sabar mentions, and I now realize it was an Aramaic phrase. I think the Jewish people owe his father a debt of gratitude for recording his people’s culture. I would be interested in knowing where I can read more about the Kurdish Jews (in English).
