John Lennon – Not Jewish

John Lennon was an English musician, singer and songwriter, born in Liverpool, England, to Julia (née Stanley) and Alfred Lennon. Raised in a working-class family, Lennon was of English descent. Lennon was raised Anglican and briefly converted to Christianity. He is best known as a founding member of The Beatles, where his songwriting partnership with Paul McCartney became legendary, producing iconic songs like “Imagine” and “Help!” Lennon was a passionate advocate for peace, using his music and public persona to promote social activism. After The Beatles disbanded, he had a successful solo career. Lennon was tragically murdered on December 8, 1980, in New York City.
