Sarah Jessica Parker has Jewish heritage through her father, who is from an Eastern European family. She identifies as culturally Jewish and wasn’t raised religiously, though she held her 1997 wedding with Matthew Broderick in a former New York City synagogue.
She is an American actress, writer and producer. She rose to fame playing Carrie Bradshaw on HBO’s Sex and the City (1998-2004), which spawned two movies as well as a reboot, …And Just Like That, which premiered in 2021 and aired its third and final season last year. She has also starred in movies such as Hocus Pocus (1993), En Wood (1994) and Failure to Launch (2006). More recently, she was a judge for the 2025 Booker Prize and won the Carol Burnett Award at the 2026 Golden Globes.
