Bob Dylan – Jewish Descent
Robert Zimmerman, professionally known as Bob Dylan, is an iconic American singer, songwriter and poet. Born in Duluth, MN, he is of Jewish descent, with both of his parents, Abraham and Beatrice (née Stone) Zimmerman, being of Jewish heritage. However, Dylan began his conversion to Evangelical Christianity in 1978. Dylan rose to fame in the 1960s with his profound lyrics, which blended folk, rock and protest music, producing timeless songs such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Like a Rolling Stone.” His influence on music and culture is immeasurable, earning him numerous awards, including the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016.
