Ben Lerner – Jewish

Lerner is an American poet, novelist and essayist. A finalist for the National Book Award, the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Critics Circle Award, he has written four novels, the most recent of which, 2019’s The Topeka School, was one of The New York Times‘ best books of the year. He has written five books of poetry, as well as a book in 2016 titled The Hatred of Poetry. He is currently a professor at Brooklyn College, and next week, he will release his newest novel, Transcription.
