Illuminating the Connections Between the Qur’an and the Torah with Abdulla Galadari, Rick Sopher, Sarah Breger and Kalid Loul
Tuesday, October 20 at 1pm, ET / 10am, PT
What can the Qur’an teach us about the Torah, and how do the two sacred texts illuminate one another? Drawing on their work, Abdulla Galadari and Rick Sopher, authors of Illuminating Scriptural Connections: A Qur’anic Commentary on the Torah, discuss the shared stories, figures and themes that link Judaism and Islam. Galdari and Sopher offer fresh perspectives on how these scriptures can deepen our understanding of one another’s traditions. Through their exploration of these connections, they invite Jews and Muslims to look beyond familiar interpretations and discover new possibilities for interfaith understanding and dialogue. In conversation with Moment Editor Sarah Breger and Kalid Loul, co-founder of the Muslim American Leadership Alliance (MALA).
This conversation is part of Beni Adam/Bnei Adam: Restoring Humanity, a joint program series sponsored by MALA and Moment Magazine, that encourages a healthy and impactful exchange of dialogue, dispels myths and builds solidarity that transcends borders and religion.
