Celebrating Latin-Jewish Communities with Analucía Lopezrevoredo and Dani Rotstein

With the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for a conversation celebrating the richness and diversity of Latin-Jewish culture. Dr. Analucía Lopezrevoredo, founder and CEO of Jewtina y Co., and filmmaker Dani Rotstein, explore Jewish identity, belonging and the re-emergence of communities reconnecting with Jewish roots throughout the Spanish and Portuguese diaspora. Lopezrevoredo and Rotstein will also discuss how these communities challenge traditional understandings of Jewish identity and the role the broader Jewish world can play in welcoming them.

Re-Emerge: Puerto Rico, Rotstein’s new short documentary about a little-known Jewish community in the mountains of Puerto Rico, will be screened at the top of the program, providing a springboard for a broader conversation about the many ways Jewish and Latin identities intersect and evolve, and how individuals and communities are reclaiming Jewish heritage once thought lost.
