By | Jan 20, 2026

In 2026, rebuilding the Black–Jewish relationship is more important than ever. Ilana Kaufman, CEO of the Jews of Color Initiative joins civil rights strategist Eric K. Ward, VP of Race Forward and Moment Editor-in-Chief Nadine Epstein, to ask hard questions and discuss concrete paths forward. The conversation includes some of the steps individuals and organizations are currently taking to repair trust and build new relationships. They also explore the structural, political, and cultural barriers that must be confronted to move from dialogue to lasting collaboration. This program is part of The Wide River Project which takes a deep dive—and a fresh look—into the issues that both unite and divide the Black and Jewish communities.
