All 2007 submissions are currently being judged. Geraldine Brooks will judge the finalist selection and determine the winners. Results will be available as soon as possible. The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 6 in New York City at B'nai Jeshurun, the event's cosponsor.

2008 Guidelines for Submission
Stories of a maximum of 7,000 words must be received in the offices of Moment Magazine, 4115 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20016, by close of business , November 14, 2008. Current deadlines may be extended or changed by Moment Magazine.
Participants shall submit a $15 reader fee , payable to Moment Magazine, with each story submitted for consideration in the Moment-Karma Short Fiction Contest. If an entry is submitted without the fee, it will not be considered. The $15 fee is nonrefundable. Submission of this fee does not give the participant any legal rights. If the participant encloses a self-addressed, stamped envelope, it will be used to notify the particpant directly of the contest results.
In lieu of a cover letter, a candidate should submit the following information with each entry: full name of author; address, day, evening and cell phone numbers; and a three-line biography.
Three prizes will be awarded: a first prize of $1,000; a second prize of $500; and a third prize of $250. At the discretion of Moment Magazine, persons selected for these prizes may be invited to Washington, DC, New York City or another U.S. city to attend an awards ceremony. Moment Magazine shall reimburse prize winners attending the ceremony for roundtrip air or train fare and hotel accomodations for one night, if travel and overnight accomodations are judged necessary. All arrangements for travel and accomodations will be made by Moment Magzine.
A well-known author will determine the winners from finalists. Moment Magazine shall be free to publish any story selected for a prize but shall be under no obligation to do so. Any story selected for publication shall be subject to editing by the editors of Moment Magazine.
Submission of a story to Moment Magazine for consideration in the Short Fiction Contest shall constitute authorization by the author for Moment Magazine to publish the story at its discreation and shall give Moment Magazine all copyrights and other rights necessary to reproduce the story in print, on its web site or in any other format or location. No payment or other compensation shall be paid by Moment Magazine to the author except as specifically stated in these Guidelines.
Moment Magazine disclaims liability for any misprint or error in announcements or guidelines respecting the Short Fiction Contest. All guidelines previously published for the Short Fiction Contest are hereby withdrawn and should be considered no longer in effect.
